Sunita Dangol was born on May 18, 1993, in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Nepal. Her father’s name is Satu Dangol, and her mother’s name is Sangita Dangol. She completed her school-level study at Laxmi Shikshya Sadan Higher Secondary School with the first division. After that, she joined Kathmandu Model College for bachelor-level communication and Tribhuvan University for master’s-level communication. She is talented in every field, so she keeps on studying new things.

Sunita Dangol is a young Nepalese politician, Newa heritage conservationist, language activist, and media professional. She is currently serving as the deputy mayor of Kathmandu metropolitan city, the capital city of Nepal. She assumed office on May 30, 2022, alongside Mayor Balen Shah. Before being elected as the deputy mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, she was active as a Newa heritage conservationist and indigenous-script (Ranjana) activist.
Sunita Dangol initially declared her candidature for the position of mayor as an independent candidate for the 2022 Kathmandu municipal election. However, she joined the CPN (UML) and competed for the position of deputy mayor with Keshav Sthapit in the mayor’s post. She was elected deputy mayor of Kathmandu with 68,612 votes, while Rameshwar Shrestha of the coalition’s Unified Socialists polled 23,806 votes.
