The autobiographical book “Maha ko Ma” sheds light on the lesser-known and possibly more difficult aspects of the life of Madan Krishna Shrestha, one of the most popular actors in Nepali theatre.

He is most frequently seen doing comic acts with Hari Bansha Acharya, who is also a very important person in his life and one of his closest friends. The book’s title, “Maha ko Ma,” is derived from the “MaHa Jodi,” in which “Ha” is a reference to Hari Bansha Acharya and “Ma” is a reference to Madan Krishna Shrestha.

The book also does a fantastic job of showing the difficulties he encountered in the early years of his 50-year acting career and love life. He has written about the impact that the death of his mother had on him as a young child, how he entered the acting profession, which was very different from his academic background, and how, in the 1970s, he found the love of his life while working at Provident Fund. He has also discussed the difficulties he encountered in his marriage to Yasoda Subedi because of caste disparities between the two of them.

It took six years to write, and Fine Prints publishers released it in September after Hari Bansha Acharya introduced it at the Hotel Yak and Yeti. It is an essential read for anyone interested in learning about the life of an actor away from the limelight.
